Kevin Vondrak
Director
A conductor and collaborator based in New Haven, Connecticut, where he is a graduate student in the Doctor of Musical Arts program at the Yale School of Music and Institute of Sacred Music, he is also Associate Conductor of the Philadelphia based group The Crossing, where he has co-produced over a dozen world premiere recordings, winning two Grammy Awards for Best Choral Performance. He often works with teams to imagine, plan, present, and record substantial new works for choir that expand ways of writing for voices, performing in choirs, and listening to choral music. He has served as Assistant Music Director for David Lang’s “the mile-long opera” for 1000 voices staged on the High Line in NYC. As a graduate student at Northwestern University, he conducted with the Chamber Opera Initiative.
